MEET OUR LITTLE BEAN

Oliver was born August 22nd at about 3:45 in the morning with no complications and had a totally unmedicated birth. His weight was 7 pounds,13 ounces and he was 20" tall. Amy did so well, everyone should be very proud of her. Just look at my beautiful family

After a little mommy bonding time I got the chance to hold my son for the first time. What a great experience. This will change everything...

Peetz lips and nose, Black eyes and ears=cute as a button

This is our first family portait. Just a couple of hours old in this photo.

so it went down like this...Monday morning Amy woke up a couple of times with some pre-labor contractions. I decited to stay home from work in case anything happened. We kicked it around the house, went on a walk and helped some freinds with some chores. After that we came home and at about 3:30 Amy's water broke. We called the midwife and made some arangments to head down there at 7:30. On the way Amy's contrations where getting stronger than before. We got to the birthing center and the midwife checked Amy's cirvix,it was at about 3cm. We made arangments to go to Kari,Molly and Owen's house to labor for a while. About 11:00 we headed back to the midwifery and at that point her cirvix was about 7cm. Oliver cleared the cirvix at about 2am and Amy started to bear down. At 3:45 he was born. His cord was pretty short and he couldn't reach the breast at first .He whined and cried for a bit and pulled himself to moms boob. It was unbelivable. Welcome to the world little man.

Only 4 days left until the "due date"
You know its getting close when updates are more frequent. I have been getting tired more easily, but other than that I'm still feeling fine. Riley makes sure of it ;-). We took a hike up Mary's Peak yesterday to beat the heat, and it was absolutely beautiful!

It is the highest point on the entire coastal range. The going was a bit slow, but we eventually made it to the top.

slowly...

neener neener

oh look the tough guy found a baby bumble bee

ahh...Oregon is pretty

We did take some time to admire some of the local's handy work. Who stacks rocks?

Oops! We won't say what Riley was trying to do.

Here's a few shots of the baby's room. Riley really came through on putting this amazing tree together! Whatta dad.

The safari animals circle the whole room, and check out the dresser Riley refinished!

Alright, until next post.
love,
amy

The count down begins!
There are only 11 days left until the due date! We've been keeping busy making decorations for the baby's bedroom...

Jezebel helped :-)

We (really its all Riley, I'm just there to make food and feed him) have been working hard getting the ground ready for our winter garden! Maybe you can see the soil past my threatening stance?

I've started in on the laundry for the wee one. Yea! Cute! Look! The clothes are so tiny!!! I know, I know, its just clothes, but we never had a basket full of tiny clothes like this before. :-)

And finally, I'm still a growing, not big enough for some, too big for me, and hopefully just enough for the bean. And yes, mom, I know my bed is not made!! :-)

36 Weeks, 9 months, or 4 weeks left you pick your favorite...

I know I'm wearing the same outfit as I did in the last post, but it's a good comparison. Please honey, no pictures while I'm on the phone...

You can see our new living room in the background of that photo. The light in this new place is fantastic!
We're keeping ourselves healthy by eating all our garden has to offer...

My good friends Amanda, Kari, and Molly threw me a baby shower! It was a good time, and check out the cake! It's the cutest!

Thanks for the gifts!

And the delicious food!

And the great company!

In the meantime, contemplating your navel has taken on a whole new meaning for me.

8 MONTHS AND MOVING

Hey folks... It's been a little while from our last post but we are doing great. We are offically in our 8th month of pregnancy. Amy is looking better every day and is all finished with her classes this term. We have finally found a new place to live that will fit our family a little better. We are packing our things like crazy and should start the move next week. We are both very exited to start setting up the nursery for baby Peetz. I have been keeping busy with work and it has been going good.Other than that not much happening here. Here are a couple photos...

Now doesn't She look fantastic! Thats my BABY in there!

If you didn't already know, Amy and I took up surfing last summer and had agreed that it was "our" thing to do together and we wouldn't surf without one another but... we found out about the baby and surfing was out for this summer. Or so I thought because Amy and I took a little spontanious trip to the coast and she made me bring my surf board. I have to say it was pretty hard to get into the water without her...but not that hard! Hah Hah! Here is a little sequence she shot of me

Just popping up!

New Photos Hurray!
Oh I know we're still doing that procrastination thing, but here it is, Sunday morning and I've got a little time to update!
You know we were in Utah for a whole week and my preggy brain is so bad that this is the only preggy photo I have of me and a small small tiniest of tiny portion of my family! But look at my 93 year old grandma isn't she the cutest!!! And man I look more like my father every time I see him! Good thing he's good looking!

Family: please send photos so I can post them if you have them!!
I just can't pass up the opportunity to publish this one of me and my kid brother Allen messing around.

Yesterday was fun! We took a short trip to Portland to hang with some great friends at Raven's baby shower. Raven and I bumped bellies every time we hugged. HA! Our babies touched...I call this one "Dualing Bellies". Soon we'll have photos of dualing babies. :-)

Mine is low and her's is high. A true testament to the every body is different saying.
AWWWW! Riley is going to be such a cute dad! This is Ezra Gray. He's 7 weeks old and up for a visit from Austin with mom Lorna, dad Jeremy, and sister Ella Sue.

Hey give me that baby!

Cori really likes pregnant bellies!

This can tickle.

Is there a baby or an alien in there?

Laying Down on the Job

Sorry we haven't posted anything in a while. We've recently learned that life keeps going whether you're expecting your first child or not. But don't you worry, as you can see we've been very busy getting ready for the baby...

We've been keeping a close eye on what we eat, but sometimes you just have to indulge a little craving...

A moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips, so either eat fast or don't let it touch your lips!

And finally, there has been a bit of growth, but we're not breaking any records.

All in all, life's pretty good at 6 1/2 months pregnant.
